I was just doodling to get refamiliarized with wolf anatomy since I usually since to suck drawing them so much [and since they're so popular on the internet-- what's up with the popularity of the wolf, anyway? I remember being obsessed in third grade after reading Jack London's books, and feeling so original for liking them, and then I found the Internet. Needless to say I kind of stopped feeling original.]
in any case, I wasn't going to upload this, but it struck me that it could be useful for others out there as well as me. It's always nice to have a few poses to look at. I even redlined the full-body wolves.
BUT, this anatomy is probably not 100% correct. In fact, it definitely isn't. So uh... please, please, point out what's wrong with these and I'll try to fix. It's about improvement, after all!

I'm honestly not sure about the popularity of wolves, either. They're one of my favorite animals, just because of their association with the raven, which is my hands down favorite animal, but yeah. And half of these internet wolves don't even look like wolves, just like neon-colored spitz type dogs.
I'm not good with critique, but this: [link] might be useful. It's a pic of a wolf-skeleton as well as an outline of what the wolf looks like with all its fur and flesh. It helps me a lot when I'm drawing wolves.
when i drew these I whipped out a few pictures of joints, musculature, and skeletal structure, but that link is more helpful than any of them *o* thanks!
I REALLY do not understand the popularity thing either. And I did the same as you - I loved them as a kid, and as soon as the internet came to me (I did the dumb thing), I was so excited to have so many people drawing wolves and stuff. So I went along with it.
And THEN started to feel unoriginal. >>
But, good work! I've practiced my heart out to get where I am. But you seem to have caught on quickly. P: And, your gallery is gorgeous. <3
thanks so much c: I think it's kind of an interesting phenomenon that people who like wolves tend to be drawn to the internet. some just happen to go the wrong way, and by that i mean "zomg emo wolves let's give em ARMWARMERS" ..lol

The one thing I notice is that the muzzle looks a bit pointed on the wolf on the right. ...but that's the only thing I notice. xD; It looks amazing.

The above post is, in fact, a lie.
Yeah, with most animals it's hard to tell just by looking at skeletons and muscles and stuff 'cause of the fur thing.
